Biography

Born out of London’s underground gig circuit in 2024, Boxing Club are a four-piece operating across the Glasgow–London divide. Built from friends of friends and forum adverts, the band fuel their sound with streetwise grit and theatrical bite — music that is confrontational, restless and cathartic.

Influenced by Fontaines D.C., IDLES and The Fall, Boxing Club channel a furious energy that reflects the times: urgent, aggressive and unflinchingly direct. Their songwriting drags politics, nightlife, drugs and the fight for the underdog into sharp focus, holding a mirror to the chaos of modern living and daring it to look back.

Their debut single Barbra dropped in September 2025 and received radio support from Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio 6 Music and John Kennedy on Radio X, alongside plays on Hoxton Radio, Amazing Radio and RTÉ 2FM. The track also landed editorial support across Apple Music (New in Rock, New in Alternative), with further playlisting via Amazon Music (Fresh Indie, New Indie & Alternative) and Deezer (Dig Deeper).

Onstage, the band’s reputation continues to grow through intense, sweat-soaked shows across London, Glasgow and Edinburgh, including sold-out headline performances at The Dublin Castle (London) and 1990 (Glasgow), plus appearances at Sneaky Pete’s (Edinburgh), The George Tavern, The Social, The Elephant’s Head and The Victoria in Dalston.

Their second single City Boy arrived in November 2025 — a darker, sharper escalation of their sound — and leads into their debut EP What’s the State Done to You?, released February 2026 to coincide with their headline show at The Grace in Islington. Having cut their teeth in the undercard, Boxing Club are stepping decisively into headline territory, armed with a voice that refuses to be ignored.
